Tim Brosnan, founder and Executive Chairman
Tim has supported development in sub-Saharan Africa since 2000. His early career was in Ireland’s Department of Finance, development banking and investment banking. Since the 1980s, he has been an entrepreneur and investor in international financial markets. He is non-executive Chair of Abbey Capital Ltd, a leading managed futures investment company, which he co-founded in 2000.
Tony Gannon, non-executive Director
Tony has been involved in social justice programs in Dublin’s inner city for almost 30 years on a voluntary basis. He has supported development in Ethiopia for a number of years. His career is in global financial markets and he is CEO of Abbey Capital Ltd, a leading managed futures investment company, which he co-founded in 2000.
Michael Swift, non-executive Director
Mick is Chair of Cystinosis Foundation Ireland, a charity which supports research into a rare metabolic disorder, and was involved in helping homeless people in Dublin for many years. His career is in global financial markets and he is Deputy CEO of Abbey Capital.
Mary Brosnan, non-executive Director
Mary has supported development in sub-Saharan Africa since 2000. Her main interest is in the welfare of children, stemming from her experiences as a mother and a primary school teacher and her study and research into the education of people with learning disabilities.
Conor Brosnan, non-executive Director and Secretary
Conor has supported development in sub-Saharan Africa since 2000 and has travelled extensively in East and West Africa. In his college years, he supported access to university for disadvantaged school leavers. His career is in investment management and he has, until recently, been Head of Research at Abbey Capital.
Anna Brosnan, Chief Operating Officer
Anna became a fulltime member of the Small Foundation executive team in 2009, moving from a career in publishing. She has been supporting development in sub-Saharan Africa since 2000.
Sally Walkerman, Senior Executive
Sally joined Small Foundation in early 2016. She has built her career around supporting sustainable economic development, especially in agriculture and financial services, and has experience working and living in East Africa, southern Africa and south Asia.
Liz Wilson, Senior Executive
Liz has been supporting Small Foundation’s mission since 2013 from London. Liz began her career as a diplomat in the UK and China, and in 2005 she moved into international development work focusing primarily on sustainable agricultural development, food and nutrition security, and agricultural development policy, in sub-Saharan Africa.
Karina Wong, Senior Executive
Karina has been supporting Small Foundation’s mission since 2016 from London. Her career has involved a combination of finance and international development, with a particular focus on entrepreneurial development and impact investing. She has been involved in development work in sub-Saharan Africa since 2006.
